1980's Fuel injection engine fluids.

I am going to flush transmission and engine oil. Which transmission oil and engine oil to use?

For the transmission use GL1. Don't use regular gear oil. For the engine, I use Rotella Diesel oil,
1979 Fiat Spider (since new)
2005 Lincoln LS (the wife's car)
2003 Chevrolet Cavalier (daily driver)
1999 Honda Shadow VLX 600
1972 Grumman Traveller 5895L (long gone).

must use a lubricant in the transmission that will not attack the brass synchros!

I (and many others) use Shell Rotella T 15W40 for motor oil and NAPA GL-1 90 gear oil for the tranny.

BTW, a good oil for the diff would be NAPA Premium Performance Gear Oil SAE 80W90.

Redline MT-90 for the gear box works well too.

How about Penzoil manual transmission syncromesh for the 5 speed transmission?

Most manual transmission/gear oil is no where near as sticky as GL1.
