1980 Valve Covers - interchangeable?
1980 Valve Covers - interchangeable?
On my quest to correct other issues I ended up cracking the oil fill side valve cover. Can i only use a 1980 cover or can I go with an older cover? Having a hard time locating a 1980 valve cover.

please confirm with others, but i think the cover with the oil fill port is the same. On my 70, it was on the exhaust side near the radiator. On my 80 it is on the intake side near the firewall. Looks like it was just switched from one side to the other.

To point out the obvious - using an exhaust side cover from a non FI will mean you've got nowhere to fill the oil from without removing the covers....!
I literally just gave away a pair of FI covers yesterday! Wayne - if you're reading this - it looks like there's a brother in need!
The exhaust side cover you really need the FI one as that's got the recess for the snorkel.
So - I think you're only other option is a pre-FI cover used over on the intake side. It will fit, and will have the oil filler in the right place - but won't have all the mountings for the various FI paraphernalia there I think.
Pre FI ones seem to be on eBay for 20-30$
I can't see any FI ones there right now.

My 80 is not fuel injected. Uses a weber carb.
Most listings I can find show up to 78 then after that its slim pickings.
Since my vehicle is not fuel injected can i get by with an earlier year.
would this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fiat-124-AC-Spi ... 1761916726
visually it looks spot on. sorry for needy questions. I know enough to sometimes get it right but mostly feeling my way through the darkness. Spare myself putting out $$ for parts that wont work. Thank you!

Ah - yes - had been assuming FI.
I'm thinking you should be ok.
