Re: Any idea what these are?
Look like the catches for the quarter windows. Round flat part is glued to the glass, angled piece rotates around round piece and locks window closed against window frame.

They look like some type of vent window latch but not for a Spider.

Re: Any idea what these are?
Those are the window catches for an 80 or later Spider. I dont know what earlier models used them.

They changed the design? Do they stay on better?

Re: Any idea what these are?
I found mine in the glove box, so I guess not.
Re: Any idea what these are?
you will find that Fiat did indeed change the style. at our garage, the '78 is the old fashioned kind where you had to depress a button to unlock the latch before turning. I think that is the style you are thinking of Denise.
The '80 has the style shown in the picture on this post.
They do NOT stay on any better, still being glued in place. I have glued the passenger side on my '80 so many times i have lost count. It resides in the glovebox now, on a more-0-less semi permanent basis.

Re: Any idea what these are?
I was gonna ask if anyone knew of a glue that would keep them on...apparently not.I tried twice with mine ,which now live in my parts box.

Re: Any idea what these are?
Mine have never come off since new. I open the window almost every time I drive the car and flip the windows all the way open. I think you might have to use a different brand of adhesive. I think Permatex makes a professional one. Are you guys using the little triangle shaped glue that is found in every store? Surface must be perfectly clean and oil free, with all old residue carefully scraped off. Better bet is the auto glass stores. I think they have a glue that is UV light activated (purple light) and should not be too expensive for them to do it.
Re: Any idea what these are?
I assume y'all are using Rearview Mirror adhesive. That's what I used on my BMW, and it worked great. BTW, bmw 2002s use the same window latches as the early (pre-'80?) spiders and coupes.

Re: Any idea what these are?
I'm assuming you guys have tried mirror base adhesive, correctly applied. It does need to cure for a few days to get to full adhesion.
Also, considering who is posting here, this is not aimed at you Craig or Mike, but I've seen people pull the wing window shut with the latch, this is how I believe any of these come loose. A PO used it as a pull. The window needs to be pushed shut from the outside, then latched, to keep this from happening.
