Order valve shims

Post by AVIANO84 »

Looking for suggestions on ordering valve shims for exhaust valve based on present gaps with original shims in place. I know the right way to order is to remove each shim get measurement and in my case ad to get to min. .020 of gap, these are the gaps I have per cylinder # 1-.030 , #2- .020 will leave , # 3-.028 and #4-.030 , I have valve noise as we speek at idle but the car runs fine

It's impossible to know what shims you need unless you know the thickness of the current shims.

When I rebuilt my head, I made a simple Excel spreadsheet that you can use to figure out what shims you need. PM me with you email address if interested.
