does my 82 FI spider need the charcoal canister?

as the title asks. Plus if it does where do the two hose connected to it go?

it only needs the canister if you're interested in preventing fuel evaporation into the atmosphere. One hose to the fuel tank, the other is a vacuum hose for purging the vapors

The hose going back to the tank provides make-up air and should not be plugged. (#6 on the drawing)
