Oil out dipstick

Post by quanta2 »

Was getting some oil out dipstick after engine rebuild and upgrades. So I noticed the fit was loose at the dipstick seal. I added a small grommet to make it snug. Then the oil is coming out the other side, which is worse because the exhaust manifold is there, causing the burned oil smell. I had installed a Weber DFEV and 1980's intake. Of course the fitting for the crankcase vent on the new chrome air filter required a reduction in hose size. After reading Mark's comment about this not being good, I put in a 3/4" elbow and full size hose from the crankcase. Very close quarters, but barely fit. Cleaned the engine and drove for a couple hours. Problem solved. Thanks for the tip Mark.
