Hit & Run

Post by Leesfer »

I was a victim of a hit and run attack this morning... (I'll post a picture if anyone is interested) I was hit in the rear left tail light, denting in the body around there and then he took off :(

At least my car was going into the body shop anyway...

Sounds like what happened to us in the family van. We pulled over and the jerk took off and around the corner too fast to even get a lic. #.
You're keeping a good attitude though, good for you.

post a pic. Now the bumper discussion pops up again. Hadn't you just removed front and rear tubes? Would the bumper have saved the corner?

It's the same everywhere. I think it's the fact that "pride" is disappearing everywhere.

I'll post a picture up tomorrow when I get home. The damage is right above where the bumper would have been, his bumper went straight into my tail light

no guessing there. If it weren't for the safety of residents, i would be the #1 advocate of the removal of all hunting restrictions on deer in our state. i contend that the current whitetail deer population in this country is at an all time high.

the government taxes the "privilege" to hunt deer, and demands a limit on the cull. Penalties for violation included confiscation of all equipment, fines, and sometimes inprisonment. doesn't that make the animal government property?

Then, when the government property causes personal property damage and sometimes human fatalities, and certainly human injury ... by straying from their homefront.... the government says "not my responsibility"

WHAT THE HECK is up with that?

in my county of residence, during the winter, the law enforcement crew WILL NOT come to a deer/car accident site to write a report. there are just too many instances for them to keep up with. all you need to do is call in the incident, and the police department will issue you an incident number for your insurance company.

You can do what was done in our area, Mike. Let loose a few coyotes. They only have 3 litters a year with 6 to 8 pups so there will be plenty to take care of the deer population. They seem to be mating with red wolves so they're 90 lbs or more. The problem is, the neighbors are losing goats, chickens, dogs and small children to them. I've got bear traps set in the woods in front of my house in hopes to catch a few of these critters so the kids can play without worry.

The coyotes have become a problem here, too.A couple months ago I woke up to the dogs howling, and a racket outside.I walked out to find a 300 lb. bear on my back deck! It seems he(or she,I decided not to turn it over to look) likes our bird feeders. Its hard to say who ran faster, but we both got out of there! The feeders have new homes in the trees.

It's not so bad, but bad enough... talking to insurance though, it turns out this might be in my favor... although I have to pay the $200 deductible, I get to have my car painted which I was planning to have done this summer anyway
