Difficult location for rust treatment

Hi all. Got most of my '81 stripped and I have found two areas needing some rust work and I've not a clue what to do. First is the entire roof armature. Of course the larger parts, the bows and all, are easy to sand up and spray, but there is corrosion all around the glass. What do folks do? Dismantle all of that and then treat/paint or... tape off the glass, treat, paint? Second, where the fender wings join up with the engine compartment, the groove wherein lays the hood when shut, well, there is a lap, I think it is called, where the sheetmetal from the fender sits atop the adjoining piece. There seems to be a bit of corrosion underneath. But, of course, one can't get underneath of it. So..POR15? Will that seep down into a space that tight? It is not a rusted through area by any means but one can see a thin bit of rust. Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm not sure what you mean by "armature", but if you're referring to the windshield frame, the only sure cure is to remove the windshield and gasket and treat the area. Rust inside the frame is bad juju; it will bubble up and can stress the glass in a concentrated location, causing the windshield to crack.

Sorry: I meant the armature for the convertible top, all the bows and linkages that hold it up.

Fortunately my windscreen and the areas around it are solid.
