Throw-Out Bearing noise?
When the car is idling in neutral there is a rattling noise coming from the bell housing area. Then when I push the clutch in it goes away. I am sure it is rattling when I am driving but due the engine noise I can not tell. My amatur guess is it is the throw-out bearing, but my clutch seems to be working perfectly. Any thoughts?

Gearbox input shaft bearing. If the clutch is adjusted correctly, the throwout bearing shouldn't be contacting the diaphragm fingers until you put your foot on the pedal, so shouldn't make a noise.

My experience is that they all rattle a little when the clutch is depressed. I changed mine cuz of the noise and a squeal, but it turned out to be a bad pilot bearing.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to wait a couple of months before I can pull the tranny so I hope it holds out .
