Gritt Racing - still open for business?

Post by ebrown0104 »

I ordered a set of the front turn signals and bumper shock filler plates from Gritt Racing a few days ago and I noticed that my payment has not been accepted in Paypal yet. I was looking for a phone number to call and make sure he's still selling parts, but I couldn't come up with one. Anyone know for sure if he's still in business? It looks like the site hasn't been updated for a few years.

this is one of many problems dealing with sellers that aren't real businesses

It can be a problem dealing with individuals that are in it almost as a hobby.

5 years ago, Tony (grittracing) was very active on this site as well as others. I bought his turn signal package and was quite satisfied with it. I also bought a very nicely made wind screen from another forum member.

But as Mark said they weren't really businesses, just individuals that were talented enough to produce a nice product at the time. It's a shame that Tony still has a website up if he is no longer offering products.

I have also been trying to contact Tony (gritracing) as I am interested in his front spoiler with fog lights. Over several months I have sent emails to him but to date no response.

Tony's turn signal design is the cleanest I had ever seen and looks fantastic with the Abarth-style bumperettes. Maybe one of our vendors can track Tony down and purchase his design and offer it on their site (hint-hint :) ).

I think the turn signals really make the front of the car. Not that I dislike Mark's setup, but then you still have the big square openings to take care of. Oh well, looks like I may have to fiberglass my own set.

johndemar - I live in Jeannette. I'm only 29, so I wasn't around during Amadio's heyday, but everyone says he was the biggest Fiat dealer in the US. I almost bought an 85 RX7 off of him about ten years ago.

Tony recently posted on the other site (fiat spiders.com) so you might be able to contact him through that site.

How are the brakes going to be cooled (I'm assuming that's what you meant) with the stock plastic fender liners in place?

I believe the large square hole are a relief for when the bumper gets compressed so the back of the indicator doesn't damage the body work.

I believe Joe passed away about a year ago. Great guy and avid Fiat supporter. He was friends with my Dad and gave me a break on my first new car.
I did try and talk him out of a sweet Dino coupe he was personally driving at the time, but he wouldn't budge on it.

It is my understanding the early models did not have fender liners. When I removed my bumpers, I converted the passenger side opening to a fresh air duct for the air cleaner.

What a shame. He was a help to many of us on this site. Great guy.

Very sad news indeed if this were to be true, he will be missed I'm sure…I do know that he was struggling with the separation from his wife but don't know if there is any relation.

Cheers to Tony !
