Opened my hood to try to figure out the rough idle issue. Saw this part down near the windshield washer container... just sitting there.



Any idea what this is for? Maybe something to do with the timing belt cover which I don't have on the car anymore? I can't find anything loose so it's a mystery to me.

Your picture did not link, I did however go to your photobucket list...are you referring to the bent piece of steel with the bolt? If so it looks like part of the throttle linkage?

I've updated the picture link. Throttle linkage? Wow. I'll look closer.

Looks to me like the bracket that connects intake to the cam box. Just below my finger and hard to get to.

Bracket the secures the oil dipstick?

Thanks guys. I'll take a closer look tonight. Can't believe it was just sitting there after driving. Maybe the Fiat Gods were smiling on me that day.

how about the bracket that attaches the windshield washer bottle to the radiator cross member

So I took a look at my windshield washer bottle and it already has the bracket!



So either this extra one was lost by a PO under the windshield washer bottle and when I removed the windshield washer bottle I found underneath. Or it belongs somewhere else. Hmmmm... the mystery continues.

If it turns out that this is an extra piece then you can have it. I'm in Canada though. So either shipping might cost more to Detriot or you wait until my sister comes up from Boston and you can get it shipped from the Boston area which would be cheaper.
