linkage for dual carbs
Hi all. I am in the process of building up a Spider that i bought last year. The new engine is now in (i hope i didn't mess to many things up)..lol Anyway,i have a set of idf's on a waffle manifold that i would like to use. I don't know how to go about hooking up a linkage to the carbs. The one on the car is probably stock,,basically a cable coming from the fire wall. Any ideas ?
Re: linkage for dual carbs
The stock setup used rods and linkages but when the engine moved so would the throttle. I made a setup using a motorcycle cable. It was a PITA . Do a search and you will find various ways of doing it with a cable. You will need to make a bracket for both ends of the cable, one allowing it to hook up to the carbs and the other to the gas pedal linkage, at least that's how I did it.

What year is your Spider? The IDF throttle linkage can be made to the center or rear most carburetor. Where you hook it up depends on the car you have and what throttle it has, if original.

Re: linkage for dual carbs
If you have a Spider that originally uses a cable (1975 and newer) then it is easy to use the 1977-80 carbureted linkage with the IDFs.
The rod just goes between the two carbs and pulls on the throttle lever.
