Brake line / fitting size?
I figured as long as I have the tranny and driveshaft out I'd run a new master cylinder to rear brake line and eliminate the compensator while I'm at it. I want to make up a line that will run from the master to the center rear hose, thereby eliminating the extra line length to and from the compensator. Anyone done this? What size are the male fittings at the master cylinder and at the connection to the rear center hose?

Zero cost rear brake comnpensator elimination
So, because I have the engine and transmission out and it was no big deal to remove the master cylinder-to-rear brake line, I decided to take the plunge and just cut the line past the point where the it passes by the center rear flex hose. I then disconnected the line from the compensator back to the hose, cut it and removed the 10 mm 1.25 connector for the line. Slipped the connector over the shortened front to rear line (cut to length to terminate at the center hose connection), used a friends flare tool to make a new bubble flare, and voila, no more brake compensator in the system.
All that's left to do is finish removing the compensator and remainder of the two now defunct sections of brake line. Already reinstalled the newly flared front-to-back line, filled and bled the system and checked for leaks; good to go!
I probably would NOT have attempted this if it hadn't been easy to remove the front to rear line to make the flare on a bench. I think you could do it with the line still on the car but it would be a LOT harder and riskier. Allsion's bypass hose would have worked but I liked the idea of eliminating all that extra brake line run and saving a few bucks while I was at it.

I took the plunge and made a flared fitting with the center line still on the car (after removing the compensator and extra brake line). There was a lot of cursing and swearing involved, but it did work on the first try. Removing the compensator though . . . . OMG.
