What can be the prob?
Mostly at 12/noon position +/- 5 mins. I try to bend steering wheel/column up and it goes away temporarily...
Any ideas?

Re: Sqeeky steering wheel on a 1985 SpiderEuropa
My 1980 had a similar problem.
It turned out to be the steering wheel hub rubbing on the plastic column switch cover shown below:
I simply re-positioned the column switch cover so the hub did not touch it and the "squeak" went away.
If that doesn't solve your problem, you may have a noisy u-joint in the steering shaft. Loosening the 4 column bolts and slightly re-positioning the column may make the noise go away.

All solved now thanks.
Removed the cover and could (I thought) locate area, juust near steering wheel itself. So with some lubrication spray and turning the wheel many times, the squeeking sound went away!
Yes. Victory. Very annoying sound.
