the 2L radiator was wider than the 1800 radiator, so besides not matching up with the two mounting studs, it will have less cooling capacity

On a related note, if I can get my hands on a 2L rad locally can I put it into my 1.8? I have a '74. Would it be problematic to make it try and fit by making a mounting bracket?

Thanks and cheers,

you'd have to remove the mounting studs from the radiator support, and you may have to notch the top of the radiator support for clearance on the top tank. Not a big deal and worth the increased cooling

Thanks very much for the speedy reply, Mark!

I'm heading to the FFO -- an 8 or 9 hour ride -- and it will be longest haul in the car by far so I'll see if I can get this done.

Thanks and cheers,

I installed a fan and aluminum radiator I bought from Mark a few years ago. Best thing I EVER did to my spider. Give me a traffic jam in 105 degree day, no problem.

Good Luck and have fun at the FFO!
