TORRINO

Hi guys !
I've been here for a while , but I still don't have a thread about my car.
My problem is - it's not a Spider . It is a sedan.
But other then the body everything else is just like a Spider. Four door Spider to be exact.
So , let me know if it's an appropriate place to show you my work , or nobody cares.
Ether way I will appreciate your opinion.
Thanx.
Gene.

I'd like to see your work. I learn lots from what other people do and I enjoy the craftsmanship of those much more skilled than me.

Close enough and I love your car! We had one (same color) growing up as a kid in the 70's/80's... I wish my dad would have kept it now. I look forward to seeing more pics and write up.

OK fellas , with your permission I will start from the beginning.
I don't usually write a lot of words , but I try to show a lot of pictures.

1974 FIAT 124 Special TC
I bought this car in November of 2010 from a movie rental company.
So , it was a movie prop .
It is an original Californian car.
It was pretty much stock with no rust and missing drivers seat.

Huge , heavy bumpers are gone .
I replaced them with light aluminum ones from Lada Niva.
You might say original , chrome bumpers are better , but I don't think so. All chrome will be painted black eventually , so chrome bumpers will not fit.
Few things were cleaned , I put clear side markers , instead of the amber ones. Found some Hella foglights . Got rid of the stupid license plate illumination . Also new muffler was installed (I had to make a cutout to fit it) and Torino badge was attached to the grill.

I dont know what is going on , but instead of shrinking pictures forum just cuts them and now you have to right click on each pictures and click View Image.
Wierd :?

Gene, the picture posting is a bit of a drag. To post properly they have to be no more than 750 wide, I think. Whatever method works for you on resizing pictures...
If you are using an iPad, try the "image size" app. Works great for me anyway.
Either way, the pictures and car are great so keep them coming!

Yeah, 725 pixels wide max and they won't get chopped off at the right.

I keep all my pics on Photobucket.
Where is no way for me to resize over a 1000 pics.
Never had a problem like this.
Every forum should have an ability to shrink the pictures instead of cutting them . And then when you click on it and it opens full size.
This is going to be a problem for me .

It is easy in Windows to do them one at a time, ad they are posted. I will update the picture posting instruction at some point, but here it is in a nutshell:

You do not need to open the image file, no viewing software is needed.
First find where the image is stored on your computer.
Click on the image file to highlite it.
Right click, then select "EDIT"
Click "RESIZE" in the upper left corner of the screen
Click on "PIXELS"
Make sure that "MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO" is checked.
Retype "725" in "Horizontal" field.
Click "OK"
Save image.

It will now be resized and show fully and properly on the forum, using standard Windows software.
