Goodwood 2014

Post by phaetn »

Just stumbling upon this now. Goodwood put up hours and hours and hours of vintage racing on YouTube. Some of the videos are (literally!) nine plus hours long!!!

If you're a fan at all of race cars from the '60s, make sure to check this out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... Ng#t=19883

It has E-Type Jags, AC Cobras, a Ferrari 250GT, Corvette Stingrays, an Aston Martin DB4, a Maserati Tipo 151, etc. etc. The cars are raced bloody hard, door handle to door handle, fighting for corners and gloriously sliding all the time. These aren't babied show cars, but beautiful historical (and incredibly valuable) cars that are having their necks wrung.

If you like smaller displacement stuff, earlier in the vid are Lotus Elans against old Porsches, Minis, Triumphs, etc. It's really amazing stuff. Cars are spinning out, losing wheels -- it's breathtaking. No Fiats, unfortunately, but I'm sure there's a class that would have 500 Abarths, Alfa GTAs, etc., since they do a fair amount of that type of racing in Europe.

There are also vintage Formula One cars in the above vid, that's all from Day 3. There's just too much to mention!

If you like bikes, there are vintage Nortons, Triumphs, and all that good English two-wheeling too, where the riders have cast-iron balls they ride them so hard.
