Hi all,
I'm switching from a dual plane intake manifold to a single plane. I have the intake manifold (dual plane) unbolted and ready to take off. It won't clear the brake booster and I was wondering the best way to get it out. I thought about loosening the motor mounts and slightly jacking the engine up... Thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

Dual plane is a pain in the ass to remove but it will come out with enough cursing and moving things around. Undoing the motor mount nut and jacking up the motor on that side is a good idea.

I had the exact same problem on my '72.
But I just got a (rather large) friend to pull the motor to the passenger side.
Magically, it gave me enough room to worm it out.
Maybe try the easy method before you go unbolting more things.
Good luck!

Loosened the motor mounts and it came right out. What a difference between a single and a dual plane manifold.

I had exactly the same problem. Solved it with a scissors jack against top driver side of the engine compartment to the cam tower. Went slowly so not to use any more force than needed to remove the intake. Loosening the motor mounts did not occur to me but maybe a safer alternative.
