I've got a '76 Spider 124 that's been sitting for a while; there is a neighbor that has a '73 spider that has also been sitting; On his the top is gone, the seats, dash , etc are ALL shot. My question is: How interchangeable are the body parts such as the doors, hood, etc and how about the Mechanical parts; you know, Trannie, starter, etc etc?
Finally about what would be the value of the '73 (I assume its NOT in running condition)
OH, I do keep a tarp over mine and DO have a new top for it and this IS down in Florida so no road sale rust.

Re: Parts Compatibility
Pretty much every single part except the tail lights, bumpers, and side marker lights will swap between the 73 and 76, assuming your 73 has two small bumps on the hood. Otherwise you'll need to use the 76 hood with the 76 engine. Engine, transmission, drive shaft, differential, brakes, wheels, tires, etc. They are mostly the same car except for the engine size and a few electrical items.

Taillights are the same too. I think the 1800 would be fine under a flat hood, after all I have the taller 2000 engine under a flat hood

Re: Parts Compatibility
Yep, sounds like $2-300 would be top dollar for a car that needs so much work. On the plus side, if there is no rust in the shock towers and very little elsewhere, its a good project car.
