what is that for?

Post by geecee »

Hello,
small simple question...a curiosity really...what do you call those black plastic "skirts" (??) that are attached to the triangle shaped small windows in the back of the car? the ones that go down into the side pockets when the top is lowered.
and what purpose do they serve? protection of...? In my car they are all crumpled and mostly completely detached, so I was going to remove them for good.
Thanks,
GC

They were curtains to hide that area, so it all looks nice. I suppose they hide the top frame's bolts where it bolts to the body.

Prevents your stuff from getting tangled up in the top mechanism and protects the water drains that funnel any water that comes in through the quarter window opening out through the bottom of the car instead of collecting inside.
