Cleaning the cylider head 75 124 1.8

Because of the location of the spark plugs and all of the garbage/filth ending up there how have you been keeping the head clean? I just took off at the polution junk off and the head is filthy. I like using chemicals to clean because I'm lazy but I don't want to damage the finish of the car if I blow the chemicals out with an air gun.

Thanks

you could try simplegreen or other water based cleaner, that shouldn't damage the finish, or cover the front end with towels

I taped a hose to my wet vac and sucked the crap out of there, then used a screwdriver with the point wrapped in a towel to soak up the extra liquid. Maybe having a towel over the engine while blowing it out will keep it from getting everywhere.
