Carburetor Filter

I just bought this filter for my 1971 Spider 124, 32/36 DFEV Carb. Does anybody know where this black plastic hose adapter is suppose to attach to. From the filter to where ?

should connect to the crankcase breather hose, but you'll find the hose is a much larger diameter than that nipple

I've typically taken a hose that properly fits that fitting and run it into the crankcase hose to create the draw from the vent.
