I have a carbureted 79 2000 that was running well except for a likely leaky accelerator diaphragm which causes the fuel to drain back to the tank.
Last week I noticed one of the sheathed rubber fuel lines from the gas tank had come off. I crawled underneath and noticed one of the other lines had a slow leak because it had split.
I decided to replace all the fuel lines on the tank and from the tank lines to the mechanical fuel pump to the carb and back to the return. I double checked I didn't cross a line or put a check valve in backwards.
Now I can't seem to get fuel to the fuel filter no matter now long I crank the engine over. Before it would take 30-45 seconds to get fuel to flow. Do I need to prime the lines with fuel?
Looking for ideas on what to do. I'd like to get the fuel problem solved before I start my next project, rebuilding the carburetor.

I would pour a small amount of gas in the carb. That will verify that it's not getting fuel. And it might get the fuel pump going fast enough to pump some gas.
Be VERY careful when doing this, as it can backfire, especially if the timing is off.

Recheck to make sure there are no kinks in the routing of the fuel lines. sounds like something is pinched

I finally got some time to work on the car. I checked all the hoses for kinks and it was fine. I poured a shot of gas in the carb and started it up. I let it stall and repeated the process about 5 times before it didn't stall anymore. I looked down at the fuel filter and it was full of fuel again.
