Not a bad price for Canada. Beautiful car, but i could do without those wheels, imho the look isn't quite right.sergio1977 wrote:Seen on restoration Garage show, History Channel, 1971 Spider sold Saturday in a Toronto auction 8,500.00

Re: restored fiat sold at auction
I'm far from a purist (hence my custom dash, heated seats, etc)... But this one doesn't do it for me...
Partial nose bra made it look like an MG, interior... No.
But, yes, for Canada, pretty sweet deal.
About 8 years ago, my piggy bank had a spare $1500 loonies, and I stumbled on an interesting auction listing...
Local impound yard was selling off the unclaimed vehicles that had been towed. It was winter... And cold. Very cold. These cars were to be sold as is, where is... With a 5min inspection, and NO KEYS. Does it work, who knows.
Days before, I prayed for cold weather... And got it. Morning of the auction, it was -40'c/-40'f... Woohoo!! What other nutball will be out in this weather, middle of winter to buy an unknown condition summer car , especially a Fiat (fix it again, Tony)???
Turns out, quite a few. Sold for $3500... -40'c, no keys.
Two weeks ago, I could have bought a sweet baby blue '72 for $1800 in USA, and shipped it "nearby" for another $700.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, we have decided to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel. We apologize for any inconvenience.
