Has anyone ever had their Spider engine professionaly rebuilt?
I am looking into what costs are for complete rebuilds, and or just head rebuild.
I realize prices will depend heavily on the wear of the engine that the rebuilders have to work with but I'm just looking for a ballpark figure.
Im considering having some work done and before I get a quote I would like to know what is realistic for our cars.
Thank you in advance

Re: Rebuilding costs
Would you be pulling the engine or would they? That makes a difference too. If they are then I'm guessing the average shop would charge $5k for a complete rebuild. Mind you a friend was quote $6200 if he brings them the engine, so prices vary.
However, you really should have it done by a Fiat specialist, aren't any close to you? I just heard so many horror stories from 'generic' shops.
BTW, parts vendors sell rebuild cylinder heads without cams for ~$500. Then cams have to be installed and shimmed.
