I am aware there were a number a number of upgrades in the 1985 Pininfarina Azzurra Spider, including rack and pinion steering and larger front brakes,
I have 2 questions:
1. What is the complete list of changes/upgrades for the 1985 model Pininfarina Spider?
2. Is it possible to retrofit all, or any, of these to a 1983 or 1984 Pininfarina Spider?
Thanks
Gord

The 1985.5 Spider (as most refer to it) does indeed have rack and pinion. From what I understand it can be retrofitted, if you can find one. I think there are also front suspension and brake differences also, as well as the rear package lid.SquadraFiatDriver wrote:I am aware there were a number a number of upgrades in the 1985 Pininfarina Azzurra Spider, including rack and pinion steering and larger front brakes,

Re: Upgrading 83 or 84 Spider to 85 spec
1985.5 Spider differences:
-Steering rack, x-member, steering column and its holder
-Larger brakes, with sliding pin calipers
-Dead pedal
-Steering wheel
-Shorter shift lever, round wood shift knob
-Light in glovebox
-120 mph speedometer
-Different wood for instrument panel (small gauges are lower)
-Lights in ends of doors
-Extra underfloor insulation by gearbox
-Cooling system with pressurized overflow bottle
-Wheels 14x6, unique design
-22mm front swaybar vs 20mm
-Lockable Compartments behind seat
Yes, most of these can be added to an earlier Spider. Some can be even better, like there is an aftermarket 25mm swaybar, or larger wheels, etc.
