1977 Spider - First restoration

I bought a 1977 Spider that has been sitting untouched in a guys garage for the last 24 years.
It needs some bodywork, but I got it cheap. I think it will be worth it.
I will post pictures once I figure out how to.

Congrats!
I too have a 77 (early) purchased last year. Interior is out and I'm patching some rust spots. This is my go to site for questions. Lots of friendly people here.
Where are you located?

Does anyone know if there are some good places to get parts in and around Ottawa? or should I get most online?

Don't know about Ottawa, but would doubt it. Most place will shake their heads and laugh. You can almost everything you will need online. Sometimes people are parting out cars and you can get good parts fairly cheap. My two favorite online stores is Allison's in California and Iternational Autoo Parts in Virginia. Its always good to ask people on the forum if anyone has the parts you need.

Hi,
Most of the mechanical / maintaince parts I've been getting from my local NAPA store, two items so far they have not been able to get for me, a brake pressure regulator and a radiator fan switch which I got on line. Getting all my other parts from NAPA saved shipping costs. A lot of the body panels are fabricated by Wolf Steel.

Thanks for the info Guy's..
I got my spider started on the week-end... It was the first time in 24 years that she turned over.. I had to clean the electrical (wires to the coil, points and spark plug wires), and replace some rubber gas lines and she started up..
Check it out..

Congrats on getting her running.
There are some parts available locally at NAPA or CAPS here in Ottawa.
There is also a guy in Carlsbad Springs (my mechanic/buddy) that does have some old Fiat parts.
He has been fixing Fiats for over "25 years", but lately he has been saying, he doesn't do that anymore...
It's an addiction...

Great to know... I'll be making a list of repairs during the winter and start the rebuild in the spring.
They are great little cars to work on.

You'll love working on it and driving it.
Maybe we can met up some day.
I drive up through Gatineau weekly.
PS Jay (4uall) also has a stash of parts available.
