Putting the motor back in my son's 1980 FI Spider and noticed that the fingers on the pressure plate are misaligned. New pressure plate recommended or just bend them back in place?

Putting the motor back in my son's 1980 FI Spider and noticed that the fingers on the pressure plate are misaligned. New pressure plate recommended or just bend them back in place?

My guess is that when it is bolted in place they will even out.

you can't just bend the fingers, that is a diaphragm spring that is heat treated. If the fingers are misaligned with the pressure plate bolted to the flywheel, it needs to be replaced or rebuilt. That spring can crack or deform
