Hi folks

Nice forum here so i tought lets say hi.
My name Is Philip but all my friends call me Tappy so pls be my friend
I Drive a 1979 124 spider 2000 my first classic and now learning how to restore it.
Heres a pic :

Things done bye now :
*replaced the motor (or better have it replaced )
*replaced the steering colum
*replaced the waterpomp
*replaced the thermostat
*installed the idf 40
*fixed the heating system
*got rid of the tube bumpers and replaced them whit old style chrome bumpers
*made custom gauge backgrounds (white and red)
*redone the walnut daschboard with a dark walnut foil

But many many things more to do ....
but hey its a Fix It All Tappy

no pics for the bumpers yet , its dark outside now (2.15 am) post the asap and some blury pic of the dash will post more later





cant see it now i suppose but they all personalised with my (nick)name on top "TappyWappy"

I get some more pics next week ordered an brand new dash, not just the cover +- 400$ (250€)
and these are old pictures from the dasch before the walnut foil is being attached

welcome. That will be a lot of chrome around the gauges when you're finished? I hope the sun doesn't shine too brightly over there

i did them myself , scanned the layout of each gauge , redrawed it in autocad , got it printed on photopaper and after cutting the holes i just glued them on the originals , the rest of the inner gauge is painted with a spray can , the needles i did with nailpolisch


to Mark , sun almost never shines here so i glad to have something bright here , anyway the rims on the gauges will be smaller than these

those are some nice looking gauges. how is the accuracy of the markings?

ther quit accurate becouse they are exact the same as the originals , however the speedogauge (or how do you call this in englisch )is a bit off i glued it a bit wrong , but hey it looks greater when i take out a friend on the highway and tell him w' re driving 180 km/h (115 m/h)

Ok maybe you schould pay the fine in £ instead of €uros then....
