The upper coolant T on my 71 if I recall correctly had a stripped thread in one of the bolt holes so I helicoiled it about a year and a half ago.
Is it possible that pressure buildup in the cooling system could cause the helicoil to fail? I mentioned some pressure build up in a previous post and it sounded like nothing for great alarm but now I see a pretty big leak at the T from the gasket and the bolt hole and when i tried to tighten it there is no "bite' i pulled the bolt and I can see pieces of metal (from the helicoil I think)
Anyway, it might be a coincidence but I now need a coolant T from a 1608. I will post in the parts wanted section...
