Mark or anyone, 16v PBS head

Post by brad131a4 »

I can't recall exactly when early 80's but I'm sure it was PBS that made a 16v head for the spider. I remember reading that it was good for around 170hp and still street able.Do you happen to remember if anyone might have used one as they were built more for racing at the time. Looking back man I wish I had kept some of the articles about the spiders and coupes I had laying around my room.

It could have been Drake engineering as they were also doing 16v heads for vw at around the same time.I know it was in one of the main mags like road and track or motortrend and it was just one of their small little blurb stories about whats going on. Mark do you happen to know Ray Mortenson he has a shop up here called Performance Apex he's been working on fiats since the 70's. I haven't talked to him for some time but I may try and get a hold of him as I think he might have an idea as to who was doing it.

I've only heard of Apex through posts on this forum. I'm not aware of anyone that build a 16v head as a direct bolt on
