Hi, first timer here. Just bought 81 Fiat Spider 2000 Pinafarina (three weeks ago). Love it.
Using 15W-40 oil,per forum. I ran through a tank of 'Garranteed to pass inspection' from Auto Zone. The Mass air censor
by the KnN air filter is open where the wire comes in on the side. Looks like it may have melted at some point. I taped it close. Will this affect the gas/air ratio? Inspection failed with HC ppm being 606 (standard should be 220) and co% 8.29 (1.20)that was at idle (11000 rpms). The High Idle was 252 (220) and CO% 7.16 (1.20). What do I adjust to get these numbers in line? Idle screw?? Oxygen sensor ? I think the gas flow is very high as the car is quick and the MPG is not very good. Thanks for your help. (1100 RPMS, although 11000 would be fun).
Bosch fuel injection.
Passing emissions inspection.
Keep it on topic, it will make it easier to find what you need.
