I finally brought him home!

Post by Dales78 »

Well, I'm just all a-twitter! :D My Spider has been stashed at a friend's place (friend of a friend, actually) for more than a year but I've finally brought him home and am getting started tearing parts off.

He'll be going for body and paint in a couple of weeks and then the real fun starts - I'm thinking Ferrari's "Grigio Silverstone" with red leather since I'm not very concerned about a "correct" restoration.

The engine, a 2L, is out with my machinist and the transmission is on my bench.

There's plenty of work to be done but this is an AZ car (read: NO RUST! NONE!) so it really is mostly mechanical and cosmetic.

Thanks for listening... I'm sure I'll have questions along the way.

You got questions? Bring em on! You'll find plenty of help here. Some of it expert. Some of it experience. But all of it willing and friendly.
Are you going to rebuild the tranny? Yourself?

About the transmission

Post by Dales78 »

I will, uh, examine the transmission and make a determination from there. I do have local access to a reputable, long-time Fiat guy for help/consolation/consultation.

Thanks for the encouraging words!
