Dang...I should have saved the picture. It had what looked like professionally painted flames starting at the hood. It looked like the radiator was on fire. The rest of the car was in fair condition.

It probably burned all the way down before he could sell it.

It was a Photoshopped picture. I was very bored one night back in about 2002 when I created this and first posted it on the forum.

This is another Photoshop job I did just for fun:

I guess if you're going to have a "barbie doll" pink Fiat, flames are a must.

Foose...destroyer of quality design. I wonder if the people who get those cars actually drive them; watching the show I wonder if they even get down the street.

Absolutely agree.

And I wonder if the owners of these cars even like their new Foose creation! I have to believe that many feel like we do and are sorry they ever got involved with him.

Akin to sending your daughter to finishing school and she comes back a hooker.

I'm hoping we've not entered an age of intense modification to these cars; most old cars usually go through only one phase of this before settling in for preservation. We already went through one phase, the body kits and crap-galore phase of the late 70's and early 80's...this one seems worse. I guess there are still too many Spiders on the road, keeping them cheap and plentiful for this kind of abuse. I would venture to guess half of the people on this board think this kind of thing is cool - hell, it isn't a guess, more like a poll made through reading the posts.

Once those cars are destroyed by their owners and sold off to secondary owners (who put the final nail in the coffin) there will be only a few hundred left. At least we'll be able to find plenty of bumpers and original alloy wheels.

Brad, I don't know if most people on this board think this kind of "thing" is cool. Just some of the ones that post here think it is. ("thinking" is the word in question)

I for one, am facinated with what people have done to some of these cars. Do I think some of it is cool? Kinda.
Would I do it to my car...
HELL NO!

Although there is a "cool factor" (cough cough) in creating frankenfiats, I remind myself why a Spider sold at auction for $46k. As Bonhams put it so well..."It is exceptionally rare to see a 124 restored to such exacting standards; it is always advisable to "buy the best", and this example is certainly the finest 124 Spider we have ever had the pleasure to offer."

I've decided to keep mine as stock as possible (yes after much decision making, I'm keeping my 1438). I hope I don't find out I have a 1608 when I take her out his spring)

Just not enough old original ones around. I shall strive to keep her as original as possible, for current and future generations of 124 Spiderheads to enjoy.

I like the Foose cars but hate the show. The format sucks. Too much cutesie chit chat. Can't stand it. He did a really nice Mustang recently, the white one with the green stripes for those who watch the show. I wouldn't want them to touch my car, but that is because it is MY project. I would likely immediately sell any "overhaulin'" car that I received.

Wheeler Dealers is the best, at least you learn something there. I like watching Ed explain what he is doing. I know, I know, the pricing and costs are complete nonsense, and they do a huge amount of cosmetic detailing that is never shown, but so what, who cares? So do I. Those 2 are like Holmes and Watson, a very entertaining show. Our favorite here.
