Agreed. Whenever someone tells me they'll call back I assume they won't. I'll make it point to call them back!

responding back in a timely manner in business is just good business. Everybody has their own opinion of what is timely. With my customers, timely is 1 to 2 business days. On personal stuff, unless it is time sensitive, I consider a week to be timely. There are priorities after all. If the choice is sending you an e-mail or taking the beast out for a spin, the beast will always win out.
I assume the rant is because you are trying to get some parts on a down car and understand.

A timely thread!

I have been trying to contact a FLU club chapter, that will remain unnamed, for about 2 months now. I had a few questions that I wanted to ask the chapter president before I joined, and I asked them on the "contact me" page of their web-site, but nobody has not gotten back to me. The chapter has a very nice web-site and the club looks good, but I have my doubts now and I'm not sure I want to get involved.

Now I know this isn't a business per se, but a volunteer thing and I'm probably expecting to much, but I would think somebody would be checking the site once in awhile. It could be the "off-season" for our beloved Spiders, so nobody is watching yet, who knows?

Patience Jim, patience...

I had the same pet peave. When I was trying to get concrete bids for my shop, I couldn't get people to call me back with quotes, I gave some a couple weeks. I give them one freebie, if they say they say they will call and don't, I will call them once. That's it, you flake me twice and I assume that you do not want my business and I will hire someone else, even if it costs more. The guy that I ended up hiring called me back the same night with a few questions while he figured up the quote and called me back the next day with a bid. That was Saturday and he was here working on the Following Monday. I had the same problem when I got gutters, either business is so good that they don't need the work or they are lazy?

Some business are run for profit, and should get back to you pronto. Some business are a side, and they sometimes do it for the love of the car. That means that they have to do life's dirty business before heading out to make custom parts. Its like, hey buddie, can you do me a favor and help me with some specialty parts. Jason Miller is really a good guy and does his best, with the work load and life situations already at hand. I have dealt with him, it always takes awhile, and he makes things right. I would just urge patience and understanding. Speedracer, you may want to hang back and show up at one of their events. They may show interest when meeting you in person, or you may not like the vibes and not want to join in. All club chapter contacts are accessible via the email link on the home site, or search via FB, cause I think they have a page. I like younger folks joining us, love their cars, and like to help too. But, not everybody is a fit with every club. Some are uppity, and are only about the new Fiat-Chrysler crap. We are independent, but so far, still affiliated.
