So, I swapped the fuel feed line to the pump today, and... No fuel to the pump. So, I did what every good Fiat guy would do and added a couple more gallons, because gravy feed... I'm up to 6 gallons in the tank, the pump is getting power (verified with test light), is connected correctly (verified with markings on pump), and still no go on the fuel... Anything I'm forgetting, before I start cursing, swearing and reminding myself what 93 octane Shell tastes like?
The one big difference between now and when I pulled the old pump (other than having a ton of fuel run out of the line when I pulled the old line off the old pump) is that the fuel level isn't showing anything, now, while it was, before.
No Fuel to the pump.

Re: No Fuel to the pump.
Are you sure you got the right lines hooked, there no reason why it should not pump out. Where is the fuel pump,? In the trunk?
Can you check it from the tank and see if is works at the short distance

I'm sure on this one. It's a FI car, so the pump is under the car, in the stock location, and I didn't touch the vent lines, just the fuel supply. (I also know it was getting fuel to the pump, before I changed the lines and filters, and I made sure to do one at a time, just to be safe.)fiat218 wrote:Are you sure you got the right lines hooked, there no reason why it should not pump out. However, the fuel gauge is working again, so that's a plus.

Re: No Fuel to the pump.
first question is if the fuel is actually there. if you disconnect the inbound line at the fuel pump with a cigarette in your mouth, do you end up in your neighbor's back yard. As mentioned above, you can reverse the wires and make the pump turn the wrong way. I find these pumps to be fickle and dont want to work if they have sat for any length of time.....even new ones.

Re: No Fuel to the pump.
switched wires is my guess also..remove line before pump and verify still getting gas flow... short hose after pump into a can or cold start injector hose into a can and power to the pump... ???? switch wires ... ???? .. try loosening the gas cap
Re: No Fuel to the pump.
I wasn't getting fuel in the line going to the pump. (Hence, no fuel to the pump.) I used an old trick (learned from a friend with an X1/9 and blew into the fuel filler neck until fuel started rushing out, after I disconnected the fuel line from the pump inlet. Problem solved.81SPIDERMATT wrote:switched wires is my guess also..remove line before pump and verify still getting gas flow... short hose after pump into a can or cold start injector hose into a can and power to the pump... ???? switch wires ... ???? .. try loosening the gas cap
