Just how old are we, anyway?

Post by darksider415 »

I'm just a little bit nosy to know how the age demographics stand... At least, I've had a few people express shock that someone as "young" as I am would be interested in a Spider, so... I thought good taste was timeless, and even a 24 year old nerd with a wrench habit could enjoy it.

Anyway, poll time.

I've been into Spiders since I was 18 - so I don't think it's strange that young people would like the Spider :-)

Looks like it's you and me in the 56+ bracket. But I only just make it. 8)

I bought my first Fiat at 21 (124 BC Coupe). Then a CC at 25. X/19 at 45 and now I've finally reached the top with my Spider. :)

I can give the 56+ some help. In fact I was 59 when I purchased my first Fiat Spider in 2003. I had a few English cars before that and have a photo of a 1961 Austin Healey posted in the "2014 Barrett Jackson" post under "off topic and social" here on fiatspider.com.
Very pleased to be a Spider owner/driver.

I bought mine new when I was 26, and just getting out of grad school.

I've found that I'm getting taller as I grow older. Every time I bend over to tie my shoes, my legs are longer.

The trend here is starting to show that it is the older people who are generally Spider fans. For darksider415 who started the poll - don't feel too bad as the only member of the 18-24 bracket so far. My 24 year old son loves my Spider - he just doesn't have the funds to buy one. He currently owns a 1983 Alfa Romeo Alfetta sedan, so don't feel too alone as a lover of classic cars at a young age!

Guess I'll make the bottom bracket a little longer. Bought the car when I was 24 and just out of school.
Look at it this way, in a few years there will be a lot of very nice spiders available for the kids that do appreciate them.
