Last week I went out to start the car in the garage (as I do every other week or so in the winter) and my 76 would not start. I have never had this problem before. I ran the battery down over a couple of hours of scratching my head and trying... The next day I charged the battery and tried to start it again. This time my electric fuel pump was making a hideous sound when I turned the ignition on. I am assuming that the fuel pump is the culprit to it not starting, but thought I would check with you all to see what you thought I should do while replacing my electric fuel pump. I've never had a problem with anything in my gas tank and the fuel pump is original. Thanks for your ideas.

Re: Help with Electric Fuel Pump Replacement
Before you replace the pump, make sure the suction line is clear, and the pump can suck fuel from the tank.
