Broken Rear Shock Mount

Post by rebelmp »

Hey guys,

At some point in the life of my spider, the lower rear shock mount broke on my 1987 Fiat Spider (Early model with the 77 Diff). The PO welded a couple pieces of scrap metal on to hold it together, and I just saw that it was broken off again.

I've got a welder who will fix it all, but I need to know of some place to get a new shock mount for them to weld on. Any ideas?

The early rears are different! They have a separate piece that bolts to the bottom of the shock that has 2 studs that point
down. One bolts this onto the shock, then put it on the axle and put on 2 nuts from the bottom.
If this is welded to the rear axle the shock can not be removed again!
