carburetor gaskets, dress them or dry install?

Post by timspider »

I'm putting in a new carb on my 78 today if the postal folks bring my gaskets, spacers, and adapters.
Got it all pretty much sorted out I think with a few last questions:
is the term dizzy reffering to a vac line that goes to the distributor?
What is the preffered dress for carb gaskets? just lay them in as is, dry? Or is there some kind of special stuff to seal gas?
thanks!

I was always instructed to soak them in clean engine oil before installing. Seems to work.
