What a month

Post by Martin124 »

I've had the worst possible few weeks. I lost my mother, she was 85 but just a few months ago she was so well it's hard to imagine that she's gone. In many ways, that was one of life's events that just had to be accepted and to be moved on from. Then, I was involved in a car accident. This has been so time consuming and every one of my emotions has been tested.

We had a beautiful service for our Mum. She was a unique individual and I was so proud that she had chosen, and arranged beforehand, to donate her body to the University for medical training. The service we held for her was at a golf club where she had spent so many happy days. I saw, and was reunited with, many of her friends and other family members that loved her and their presence reminded me of everything that is right with the world.

The accident was not my fault of course. I was travelling through an intersection on a brightly illuminated green light. A young driver came through the intersection and hit me right smack bang in the middle of my car. She was not insured. My insurance company has been fantastic and supportive and place no blame on me at all. The other driver is doing the only thing left for them to do in the face of a huge repair bill - claiming that I went through a red light. No cameras, no witnesses. Just my word against theirs. This is like an accusation against my character that hurts the most of all.

The good news. Firstly, nobody was hurt. Secondly, I wasn't driving the Spider!

I wish life would get boring again.

Martin, Sorry to hear about your mom,I lost mine in 92 at the age of 53 to cancer. It does get easier with time. Don't fret too much over the false accusation of you being at fault. Life is too short to stay stressed and distraught. There was a witness from above and I pray he wraps his arms around you and give you peace.

Hey Martin, sorry to hear about your mum and accident. I hope it all becomes boring quickly again for you soon.... got to love these people who think they don't need insurance, I bet they believe they are a better driver than anybody else.....until they have an accident....really peeves me

Sorry for your loss..

I had a similar day.. I buried my best friend earlier this year (cancer, he was 38), and on the way back from funeral, a young lady rear ended me, while I was stopped at a light (not the spider, but a rental).. I was bit overly harsh on the girl, but the cop understood..
