problem Clutch cable

Post by Piccola »

Hi. I broke the clutch cable. Ordered a new one, installed today . the pedal is really soft but I can't put any gear. If I off the engine and try to put a gear , it works........ If I turn the key with the gear and the clutch pressed, the car jump. It means that the pedal doesn't make any effect put I can see pulling the lever
Do I forgot something ?
Is there any procedure I have to follow ? I put the nut more less in the middle of the threaded part.

Thank you

The pedal should have about 1" of travel before you feel resistance.

Did you remember to put the clutch cable through the transmission bell housing hole before you connected it to trans clutch lever?

Yes, I did. I just follow the same way of the old cable.
I'll take picture and post it.

I have used few cable tie and put the lever at the end . Still the same problem.
It seems is not a cable problem now but something else. Is there anything I have to do at the lever ? I saw it moves a little.

Now clutch works. It was the lever out of position. I found in the forum several picture showing the lever and I fixed. Now I have to adjust the pedal. The pedal is too high and it works when is almost released. I'm close to the end of the threaded part. Hopefully will get better in this range otherwise I have no idea. the previous cable was in the middle and it was operating when the pedal was all pressed.

Any idea ?
