Post by seabeelt »

Anyone know where to get replacement side moulding (to prevent door dings)? I would like to match the original if possible Thanks

I have a fairly complete set from a 1976. I will take a look at it tonight if you are interested. I can't remember if all the pieces are there, or the condition. Call me if you want me to dig it up.

The best stuff is the aluminum/vinyl molding you can get from JC Whitney available in several colors (the tan vinyl matches my tan top) on my red car. The aluminum is screwed on and is very straight (measure from door bottom front and rear to have perfectly level). After door piece screwed on then use a level to set the fender pieces. Cut the vinyl pieces a little longer than needed as will shrink with time and they can be squeezed in to fit. I have used this stuff on several cars.

i believe the door side moulding was a dealer add-on "value package" item. meaning, each dealer used his own setup to install / or not install side moulding.

good luck matching yours to someone elses. ask for pictures and study carefully before you have something shipped.
