How does one remove the Pinn badges and rear valance badge? These appear to have studs; do you simply pry them off? Are the pins reusable? Any tips would be appreciated.
Extra credit question: The early Spiders have "124 Sport" in script on the back. My 1973 has the same wording in the slanted Fiat blocks. Will the early badge fit in the same holes as the later?

Re: badge removal?
the original badges had studs with ridges that popped into plastic inserts. Over time those inserts become quite brittle and usually can't be reused since they disintegrate as the badge is removed

But the 73 model may have the threaded studs with nuts, like on my 72. You'll have to remove the quarter trim panels inside the car to access the little 6mm nuts. The rear valance badge did have smooth studs if my memory serves. Can you access the studs from the right taillamp hole? I would guess the holes for the emblem would be the same.

Re: badge removal?
I bought new fiat badges for my repaint....
they had nice pins on the back of them that I was able to use a die on and thread to 10-32 (might have been able to get away with 1/4 20 but the 10-32's were easy to find in my parts box)
I also got a friend who works at a Ford dealership to get me a couple of those little plastic inserts they put in the holes before putting their badges in.... those things alone would have been enough to hold the badges in.

Re: badge removal?
Thanks, guys. Mine were unthreaded pins into plastic sockets, which I guess I can get either at a dealership that Jazgeek suggested, or the body shop that will be doing the painting & finishing. The "124 Sport" badge cleaned up pretty well, and I was able to restore the black backround by switching to decaf for the day. I guess a coat of clear would help to keep it pretty.
