I have a 132AC.040.3 in my 73. It seems to have the correct head casting numbers that correspond to this engine number as well. In fact, the whole car seems to be completely "stock" in all things. However, the odd thing is that the shop manual shows this engine with a block-mounted distributor while mine is mounted on the exhaust cam housing.
The reason I am curious about this is whether or not I have a "stock" set of cam shafts, since the exhaust cam with its distributor drive gear is needed. The Mirafiori site's table of engine models shows dramatically different cam timing amongst the various 132 types. If I ever have to service the cams, I want to be sure I know what I currently have.
Anyone else know if the '73 1592 is supposed to have a block-mounted distributor, or is my engine correct as-is?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Question on the 1592 distributor position
There's not a huge difference in stock Fiat grinds. Advancing or retarding cam timing and using different running clearances can change characteristics, but the actual cams didn't vary greatly.
