Can I have some feedback from recent purchasers. Im buying from New Zealand so I have to get it right the first time ;
1) Slip -ons vs recover kits ?
2) IAP vs WOrld vs Vicks?
Any tips welcomed

Surely getting hold of locally sourced sheepskin covers wouldn't be hard?

(and I'm only partly tongue in cheek - I'd love a set!)

Oh the opportunities for comeback are endless... we can always switch to worship of the oval ball... ;)

I'd suggest replacing the entire cover by the way...

hey there,in town here they had a seat manufacture they were throwing out messed up covers
so i guy i new grabbed a load out of there trash.he had them 3 or 4 yrs, and mine were shot!
so he gave me the covers"grey leather"i took them to an apolster.they charged me $100 per pannel.
it ended up at $600.

i have quality seats now,but i could live with new covers.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest getting a quote from a local re-upholsterer for a shop made solution. I looked at all the seat re-cover kits, then went to a local guy recommended by the folks who redid my floor pan. For $900, he rebuilt the foam in both buckets, re-tied all the lashings, redid the seatbacks, and recovered front and rear seats in a very nice soft-to-the-touch vinyl. I'm a rank novice at anything resembling reupholstery, and I figure that I came out no worse than even compared to buying a kit and either 1) replacing pieces I'd mess up, or 2) hiring a pro to install the seat cover kit. For those in southern Wisconsin/northern Illinois, the local guy is Vic's in Madison. He's getting my new top to install as soon as I buy it.

agreed, I had the whole interior redone by an auto upholsterer in original style, material of my choice, at a really good price and the quality was fantastic.

It depends on what your priority is; get it looking as good as possible for as cheap as possible, or paying what it takes for a top quality job.

And in my opinion, if you skimp on anything to do with restoration, a year from now you'll regret it, and you probably won't even recall what you spent the savings on.
