Running car without radiator or coolant

Post by rjkoop »

I'd like to check the engine / oil leaks, etc... before install the radiator and hoses. Is this possible? Can I just put a hose on light pressure in the T coolant area near the top of the engine? Or is there a better place?

I'd just hate to install the radiator and new hoses and then find I have an oil leak near one of the seals I replaced.

Actually I just found this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsmxqmbdeV4 ... about 8 minutes in.

Looks like they are feeding water into the water pump and it's coming out from the T at the front top of the engine. I think I'll try that when I'm doing the 1st startup.
