Fiat 2000, 124????

Post by mikesiena268 »

Ok so after seeing the fiat 124 and 2000 in various pictures I can't seem to figure out the difference?... That's if there is one, I have a 79 2000 spider? Well the truck badge says 2000? So if 2000 a style of the 124? O what am I missing here?

They are the same. Just a rebadge for the 2L motor line. Then there is the Azzura, which again was a rebadge when Pininfarina started making the car.

124 is the body model style. Sport coupe (convertible) or coupe (sedan hard top) they have different engine badges. 1600, 1800, 2000... You get the idea

And then there are the different bumper styles or lack thereof on many 124's bodies, hood bumps or flat hood, various trim and instrament location changes (such as tail lights), battery location (under hood, center trunk, trunk wheel well), size engine as mentioned before 1438 CC up to 1995 CC with the 1995 cc being called the 2000. 1980 they moved to FI from carb and so on. The differences between years can sometimes be very minute if at all but the body style is almost the same across years.
