All Italian Car & Motorcycle Show - Alameda, CA

Post by toyfiats »

Sunday, October 13, 2013. I've been going there on and off for the past 25 years and it's a great local show. Very laid back and casual atmosphere, sponsored by the local Alfa Romeo club. Some great cars show up every year, some quite unusual and exotic, but all Italian cars are welcome, in whatever condition.

I plan on being there with my '81 Spider, as it's been a few years since I last showed it.

I'll be there too in my silver 79 that has a 12 year old restoration. That's what I love about the show - you'll see everything from daily driver Fiats and Alfas to fully restored Ferraris and Maseratis. I showed my 80 Spider daily driver last year. There's plenty of room for everyone and no pretense. It's just a bunch of people sharing their love for Italian cars and helping raise money for Special Olympics. It is a really fun event. Come one, come all! Pre-registration is recommended but not required and admission is free.

Anyone up for a drive along the coast the day after?

Here are some pix from last year:

The show is also open to Italian motorcycles. If I get the Spider back on the road I may bring it however, several times in the past, I've taken my '73 Moto Guzzi and just driven right in and parked with the ranks of two wheelers on display. It really is a nice laid back gathering with a spaghetti lunch, good people and a fun variety of rolling Italian stock.

I'll be there, as well, if BART doesn't have a strike by our bargaining units. The 60-day cooling off period ends on Oct. 11. If there is a strike, it will be 12-hour days, 6 days a week. I can only hope that the contract is settled before then.

Looking forward to seeing you, John. Work has been wearing me down this summer.
