Shifter plate fastener

Anyone know where I can buy the white fastener that holds down the shifter plate. Two prongs on the bottom of the shifter plate gets pushed onto them to secure the shifter plates.

I recently pulled my shifter plate to replace the inner shift boot. It doesn't seem that the shifter plate was ever meant to come off the console because it was a real PITA with all the care and fussing to make sure I didn't munch the console in some way. I'm looking into a different set-up in the form of a rubber grommet / bushing to take the place of the plastic bushings that the pins pop into. If I ever need to pull that plate again I want it to be easier so I don't risk damage to the console. I'll let you know what I come up with.

I had contacted the usual suspects in the vendor world to see if any of them carry the plastic bushings for the shifter plate. It was pretty much "no" across the board. If you MUST go the stock plastic route, I'd say that the best bet will be to find someone parting out a Spider and put in your request. If my experiment is successful with the rubber bushing/grommet approach I'll offer the plastic bushings up.

When I got my car several years ago the shifter boot was loose. After prying up the plate I found that the wood trim was coming unglued. I spent some time cleaning off the old glue, repainting the metal plate and reglued the trim down. It took some time to figure out how to get the boot back on with that ring but I found it just expanded out from inside the boot and wedged in between the metal plate and the wood trim. After all that trouble I just dropped it back in place (some the plastic holders were broken) and left it resting in the console so if I needed to get it out again it would just lift up. So far it hasn't moved or rattled. I also would recommend replacing the inner boot if it's at all worn. It keeps a lot of heat out.

Maybe something as simple as a heavy duty Velcro would work?

I was watching this video from IAP and about the 3:25 mark the guy talks about replacement plastic pieces. Just a thought...
